Tuesday Tool - The New Stampin' Up Trimmer

Good Morning Everyone! Today's Tuesday Tool is the Stampin' Up Trimmer. I have one and I love it! So many new features of this tool make it the best one on the market. The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you are cutting. The handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin and end. And, with the specially-designed insertion point, the handles snap into the track easily without bending or bowing the track itself-which helps to keep the track straight and rigid. Remember how frustrating it was to try and cut regular- sized cards on the old paper trimmer? With the new trimmer, the base has been extended so you can make most of your common cuts and measurements without extending the ruler!

Features of the All-New Stampin' Trimmer
  • An extra-wide 6-1/4" cutting base and an extended 14-1/2" ruler
    • The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 1/4" (4 mm) increments, allowing for small measurements.
    • The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.
    • The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.
    • When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface.
    • The cutting base and track include a full ruler, incorporating measurements down to 1/16" and grid lines that mark each quarter inch.
    • All rulers and measurements on the base are printed under a plastic cover so your measurements won't wear off.
    • The base has nonskid feet, which keeps the Stampin' Trimmer securely in place on your work area.
  • A full 12" cutting and scoring track
    • The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you don't have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you're not using them.
    • The track gives you enough space to cut or score a full 12" (30.5 cm) without having to remove or switch out handles.
    • The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.
    • The track includes an insertion point for cutting and scoring blade handles so you can easily insert handles into the cutting track.
  • Specially designed handles and cutting track to ensure straight cuts
    • The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.
    • Handles come in two colors: dark for cutting, light for scoring.
    • The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you're cutting.
    • The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin.
  • Storage compartment under base
    • The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades, and even business cards.
    • Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organized, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you've stored.
  • Product details: item 126889; $29.95

Tuesday Tool - Stampin' Up Watercolor Pencils

Good Evening Everyone! Today's Tuesday Tool are the Stampin' Up Watercolor Pencils. You can use them alone to color stamped images or use them with a blender pen, watercolor brushes or Aqua Painter for beautiful effects on your project. They come in 24 assorted colors and are packaged in a sturdy tin container.

Features & Benefits

  • Set of 24

  • Richly pigmented colors

  • Use dry as colored pencils

  • Blend with dampened brush, Aqua Painter, or blender pen for watercolor effect

  • Soft and blendable

  • Sturdy tin storage container

If you’ve always wanted watercolor pencils but have been holding off, now is the time to get them. Stampin' Up's Watercolor Pencils are among the best on the market. It is so easy to get a professional watercolor look when you blend the colored images with an Aqua Painter or blender pen.

Quick Trick

After stamping a design, color the desired area with the pencils, then paint with water or a blender pen and watch the colors come to life! For more vibrant color and shading, color your artwork again while the paper is wet.

You can also make a palette on scratch paper by scribbling a section for each color. Pick up the color from the scratch paper with an Aqua Painter or blender pen.

For easy opening, squeeze the two back corners of the tin; the lid will pop open.

FYI

These pencils are made by a renowned manufacturer of high-quality art products. Because the pencils are precision engineered, the leads are centered in the wood barrel, making the pencils easier to sharpen without breaking the tip. This, in turn, will help the pencils last longer.

Tuesday Tool - Stampin' Up Aqua Painters

Hi Everyone! Today's Tuesday Tool are the Aqua Painters. They are very versatile for controlling watercoloring. With the Aqua Painters there is no need for a cup and water and no mess! To use these, fill the reservoir with water.

Quick Trick

  • You can use the Aqua Painter to pull colors to blend and soften them.

  • You can also use it to paint a line on Mulberry paper for easy tearing.

To use, carefully squeeze the barrel of the painter. If too much pressure is applied, liquid may come out too fast. For best results, empty the barrel and wipe moisture from the brush tip for storage.

You can place 8 cc of water or water-soluble liquid (with the consistency of water) in the refillable reservoir.

Tuesday Tool - Stampin' Up Sanding Blocks

Good Evening Everyone! Hurricane Isaac has now made landfall near New Orleans and continues to come my way. I have made the final preparations for wind and rain expected on tomorrow. As I stated yesterday, please continue to keep everyone along the Gulf Coast in your thoughts and prayers. I will try to update my blog a few more days this week if I can. Today's Tuesday Tool is the Stampin' Up Sanding Blocks. They come in a package of two and they have a multi-purpose use. I keep several packages on hand at all times!

Sanding Blocks are great to:
  • Distress paper surfaces and edges
  • Sand Chipboard edges
  • Take the film off of stamps so that they ink well
  • Sand rough edges when card stock is punched
  • Sand rough edges when card stock did not cut clean in a paper trimmer

Try This:
Use the embossing texture plates to create an embossed image on Designer Series Paper. Then use a sanding block on the raised design and it will take the color off the top revealing the white middle of the DSP. This really makes the design of the texture POP!

The handle has a T-shaped top portion, which makes it easy for right-handed stampers and left-handed stampers. Instructions are included with the Stamp-a-ma-jig, but here’s a basic overview to help you understand how it works.

1. Align the plastic sheet in the T-shaped top of the Stamp-a-ma-jig, making sure that the corner of the sheet is placed squarely into one corner of the Stamp-a-ma-jig.
2. Stamp your image on the sheet, placing the stamp squarely in the corner of the Stamp-a-ma-jig.
3. Place the stamped plastic sheet on your project where you want the stamped image to be.
4. Keeping the plastic sheet in place, place the Stamp-a-ma-jig on the stamped corner of the plastic sheet.
5. While holding the Stamp-a-ma-jig in place, remove the plastic sheet, place the stamp in the corner of the Stamp-a-ma-jig, and stamp on your project.

If you have a favorite set that needs the Stamp-a-ma-jig, you can make permanent image sheets to keep in the stamp case. Cut Window Sheets into small squares and stamp images from that set on the sheets using the Stamp-a-ma-jig and StazOn ink.
