Happy Thursday from a very cold, southern Louisiana! Every time I think we are starting to warm up, we get a knock from ole man winter reminding us that Spring is still months away! I hope we get some sunny days this month as we are in Carnival Season - Mardi Gras, and many of the parades will start soon! Laissez le bontemps rouler! Let The Good Times Roll!
I hope today's Thursday Tip is something that you will find handy! Ever find yourself without brads that match the color of your papercrafting project? Well follow these steps, and you will have custom colored brads in a snap!
Take any color brad ( I like gold), and hold the stems of it with a clothespin. Then WITHOUT COATING THE BRAD HEAD WITH EMBOSSING INK, blast the head of the brad with your heat tool for about 15 - 20 seconds. Just long enough to really heat up the tip. Then immediately dip the head into any embossing powder. The powder will stick to the head of the brad. Blast, the brad again to melt the embossing powder. Viola - custom colored brads! You can reheat the brad, dunk it in embossing powder again, and heat it again for a thicker layer. Give it a try! Enjoy!
