How to Make Your Own Flowersoft

Hi Everyone! As we head towards the New Year, I want to share my last Technique Thursday of 2009 by showing you how you can make your own Flowersoft by using styrofoam balls and Stampin' Up Reinkers to embellish your projects. This is not my idea but was told to me by a good friend Ms. Dee. Because Stampin' Up has 48 different colors and 6 In Colors in Reinkers, the possibilities are endless! Enjoy!

1. You will need styrofoam balls from the local dollar store, liquid adhesive, plastic fork or popsicle stick, plastic bag, your choice of Stampin' Up Reinker (I'm using Real Red.)

2. Take two styrofoam balls and rub them together.

3. As you rub, the styrofoam will fleck into small soft pieces.

4. The soft pieces will be the consistency of flowersoft.

5. To add color to your flowersoft, place the pieces in a plastic ziplock bag.

6. Add three drops of Reinker to the bag. I'm using Real Red.

7. Take the plastic fork and mix the Reinker and flowersoft.

8. This dries pretty quickly. Now the flowersoft is colored.

9. I keep mine stored in these containers.

10. To use your flowersoft on an embellishment, I punched a heart and applied liquid adhesive to it.

11. This is my flowersoft heart!

  2. Oh, this is too cool! I saw some at a craft mercantile one day and it came in a small little container but the price was huge and of course I need lots of colors...so needless to say, I left without getting any...but still wanting. TFS because I will have to try this little trick! :D
