Make A Card Challenge Week 3 - Adding A Stamp And Sentiment

Good Morning Everyone! We are in Week 3 of the "Make A Card Challenge"! If you are just joining us, you can go back and read the posts for Week 1 and Week 2. It's not to late to participate. This week we are adding a stamp and sentiment to the top layer of our card. I am using the Stampin' Up Because I Care Stamp Set. It has not only a pretty image of a Hydrangea Flower, but two sentiments as well. When choosing your image and sentiment, less is more. You want your card to convey meaning besides looking pretty! Also for my sentiment, I am using the Modern Label Punch and the Word Window Punch to make a decorative label for my card. These are not necessary. You can just stamp the sentiment on the card and it will be just fine. Are you ready to begin?

Materials: Stamp Set (preferably one with also sentiments), Ink (You can use stamp pads or markers. In my case, I am using Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers.), Label Punches if you want a decorative label for your sentiment ( I am using the Modern Label Punch, and Word Window Punch from Stampin' Up. Again, this is not necessary.), the 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 card layer, scrap paper from the two colors of cardstock you are using (My colors again, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.)

2. Stamp your image with a stamp pad or in my case, I mounted my stamp on a clear block and used Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Markers to color my stanp.

3. Now stamp your 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 card layer. You will end up with a stamped image like this:

4. I am now repeating the same process for my sentiment stamp, and then punching my sentiment out with the Stampin' Up Word Window Punch. Remember this step is not necessary. You can stamp your sentiment beneath your stamped image. I will then use the Stampin' Up Modern Label Punch to make my decorative label.

5. Here is what I ended up with when I finished:

Now get moving! Gather your materials and stamp your image and sentiment. Let me know how your progress is going by leaving me a message here. Next we, we will add our accessories and put our card together! Enjoy!
